As we know that Industry 4.0 is in motion and it relies heavily on the success of 5G. Good thing is that the 5G launch in India was successful but the question is “Will 5G be able to live up to its expectations?” Well, to make 5G stand up to its expectations we need Network automation.
What is Network Automation?
Network automation is the process of using software to automate the managing, configuring, testing, and operating of physical and virtual devices within a network. Network automation is a good way of maximizing the network’s efficiency, security, and functionality.
The common benefits of Network Automation are:
– It reduces human errors in network management.
– It rapidly deploys network functionality and services.
– It reduces the time for resolving network and network security issues.
Network Automation for 5G
It is expected that 5G will have huge traffic and the data usage and consumption will be higher too. 5G Network Automation needs to be done to support multi-vendor and multi-domain technologies. There are many technologies like metaverse, cloud gaming, etc relying on 5G, as it can provide the speed, network stability, and flexibility required for these technologies.
5G will bring significant benefits to its users but with benefits comes complexity too. 5G is a complex network and it needs to be automated especially when the transition from 4G to 5G has already started happening. It will be very difficult for the network providers to handle this transition and network automation will make this transition smooth.
