IMC 2022 aims at building ideas, forging long lasting industry relationships, showcasing leading-edge mobile technology and product trends in today’s scenario. The event brings together representatives from business, industry leaders, government, and other ecosystem players to deliberate, discuss, and demonstrate the most recent developments in the TMT & ICT sector.
India Mobile Congress is not only the biggest technology event in Asia, but also the biggest networking event in India in the technology space.
India Mobile Congress 2022 was held between 01-04 October, 2022 and was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi.
This session was based on new technology in broadcasting sector, many dignitaries from industries were present in the session; Mr. Sanjiv Shankar – Joint secretary MIB; Mr. Avinash Pandey – CEO ABP network Pvt. Ltd; Mr. Parag Nair -CEO Saankhya labs Pvt. Ltd & Mr. Akash Saxena – Head Technology Platform Disney Hotstar were present in the session.
The invigorating session began on an inspirational note as our key note speaker, Mr. Sanjiv Shankar Joint secretory MIB started with providing insights how TRAI is regulating the broadcasting sector and how the regulation is being changes from decade.
He discussed about how broadcasting have great significance in coexistence in telecom advancement , and how the regulation has soften with span of time and any regulation has to be simple ad cost of compliances should be reviews and low. He discussed how Multiplicity of approval can create problem for approval form various bodies like MIB, DOT, MOH, DPIT, MEA which are involved and has to be reviewed for changes.
Our Next speaker Mr. Avinash Pandey – CEO ABP network spoke about what is happening in the broadcasting space, he presented various fact about how TV landscape in india has evolved dramatically in the last decade with facts like india is set to become the 3rd largest TV market globally by 2026, 89% of TV sold today are SMART TVs & 80% of connected TV homes also use Pat TV connections, which was very insightful and informative session.
Mr. Akash Saxena – head technology platform Disney Hotstar discussed about business model of OTT platform and how it is evolving. He discussed about Prevalent Model which are subscription which have DTC and Partnership. And how OTT platform is using AI for its user content selection which helps users to see the content if their like only.
