By Harlavit Kaur. SBUP MBA Class of 2021-23.

Greetings! My name is Harlavit Kaur which means “a person who loves God” and consists of three
different languages i.e., Punjabi, Hindi, and English. So, you see how interesting and unique my name
is, so is my life as I am a Punjabi who is born and brought up in Ludhiana, Punjab. By nature, I am
extremely jolly, polite, and helpful. Being a Punjabi I am for sure foodie, and you can never miss ‘Chole
Batture, Methi Lassi, Maki di Roti’ and the list is never-ending. The best things about this city are tasty
food and hosiery industries. Since it also had good options for commerce colleges, so I decided to
pursue my graduation from a college in Ludhiana, under Panjab University.

All my cousins were from non-medical backgrounds, but I chose to pursue my graduation in commerce,
but seeing them working hard and performing well in their respective careers always inspired me. My
brother and my sister-in-law who pursued MBA from Sri Balaji University, Pune (SBUP) used to tell me
about their MBA life like how they celebrated the cultural events, how the college used to organize
parties every month end, keeping in mind a slogan “work hard, party harder,” how busy their schedules
used to be, how cordially they used to celebrate all festivals, Drishti – the SBUP Youth Festival being a
cherry on the top. Listening to all of this was great fun which also helped me in making up my mind for
pursuing MBA from this college. So, I gave my entrance tests and applied to SBUP, and talking about
the result; YES, I am a part of SBUP now and I am a student manager at BIMM (Balaji Institute of
Modern Management). Having started my journey a few months ago, I am sure that this Institute would
help me fulfil my dream of running a business in the future.
The experience which I had till now is great. I got to know a lot of people from different states of India,
got to know about their culture, made some of them good friends as well. Having classes virtually is a
bit of a challenge as you cannot meet or interact with a person physically but overall, these virtual
classes made us familiar with the latest technologies as well. I am eagerly waiting to join the classes
offline and meet my faculty and friends whom I have just seen virtually.
This is a place where you can learn Discipline, Dedication and Determination; the 3 Ds which our college
teaches us about. SBUP can bring a lot of positive change in your life as it pushes you a lot with a strict
seven-day working schedule, great learning experience from corporate leaders, experiencing live
projects, and gives you experience about varied people from all states, improving your interpersonal
skills. This college prepares you to outshine in the corporate world and assures 100% placement which
gives us security about our future. I hope wherever I go I make my college proud and the teachings
which Bala Sir used to give us – ‘Problems are Opportunities’ always remain with us.
